It’s been going kinda slow here on web toilet. Mainly because of other projects, school and guitar hero 3. But I’m starting a new weekly post now, ugly sites. I’ll showcase 5 ugly sites I’ve found while stumbling and surfing over the web.
Yahoo! Buzz has the most of the “web 2.0 look”’s stuff. Like the reflected logo, the scanlines and of course the gradient. I hate the reflected logo and scanlines most on this site. Argh. It sucks.
Youlicit also has the reflected logo and gradient. But it also has one more. The sheen. Argh, it’s so damn ugly.
Wikidot is not nice in any way. The reflected logo, the sheen and the gradient all make me mad. Though the product itself looks very tempting.
Buzz2biz has one more cliché cramped together with that cursed “web 2.0 look”. The speech bubble thingie. Damn I hate it. The menu on the right side also make my eyes bleed. Look at the colors!
Viddix. Ahh, what a funny name. Look at the logo. What the hell. How did the designer of that logo think that would catch peoples eyes in a good way? Oh well. And also, did you notice the beta-speach-bubble-thingie? I did. What the fuck does that have anything to do with anything?
I’ve just started with this kind of things, so please do give me some advice.
Hey! I’ve also made a new “poster” for a norwegian design community.
